21st CCLC Program

What is 21st CCLC?

Updated: 8/14/19

21st CCLC

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) is a before and after school program which offers academic intervention and enrichment activities that supplement our school day program.  In addition, educational services are offered to adult family members of students participating in the program.  Space is limited; therefore students will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Free snacks will be provided to program participants and dinner is served at 4:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Classes start promptly at 3:30 p.m. and end at 5:00/5:30 p.m.  There is no charge for your student to attend.

We also run the CCLC Power Hour from 7:00-8:00 a.m. and offer credit recovery classes and homework help.

We offer both academic & enrichment classes. All students who participate in the 21st CCLC Program MUST agree to attend at least two time a week to our academic classes and one time a week to our enrichment classes until he/she has reached 30 days of attendance.  The days each class will be held will be set when our staffing sand enrollment needs are met.

This year, our credit recovery classes will follow a blended-learning approach in which the student works online, one-on-one and in small groups with a teacher.  Because the interaction with the teacher is crucial for success, students must commit to working at school at least three days a week on specific days. We hope to offer Algebra, Geometry, Englis9/10, Science & Social Studies courses using this approach.  For students enrolled in Credit Recovery Classes, the 21st CCLC Warrior Academy will have computers and teachers available every day from 7:00-8:00 a.m. and from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

Credit Recovery
Attendance in the credit recovery classes is crucial and required. This is not a drop-in or an online program format.  Students who do not meet attendance requirements and do not make adequate progress in class will be dropped from the credit recovery classes.  Students may make up two absences with a completed teacher consent form. The will also have to work in the library before school or the computer lab after school on assignments provided by the teacher.
